Whether he’s inside or outside of the courtroom, Samuel Meirowitz believes in fighting for victim’s rights.
Inside the courtroom, he has won multimillion-dollar cases helping victims who have suffered at the hands of corporate greed. In a breakthrough asbestos case in 2013, Samuel won a $3.8 million verdict on behalf of his clients against a boiler equipment manufacturer. The award, one of the first multimillion-dollar asbestos verdicts in New York in decades, was later upheld in appeals court.
Outside the courtroom, Samuel has organized and conducted union meetings to inform workers about the occupational safety hazards of asbestos in rural Canada. He has also supported mesothelioma research in many ways, including participating in a mesothelioma run-walk event.
Prior to opening his partnership firm, Samuel worked on behalf of insurance policyholders handling bad-faith claims. He also worked as a Bronx (N.Y.) District Attorney prosecutor and senior trial lawyer with one of the nation’s top personal injury law firms.
Since 2016, Samuel has been a proud recipient of the Super Lawyer designation, a peer-nominated distinction that identifies attorneys who excel in their field. In 2013 and 2014, Samuel was lauded as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, which honors attorneys under age 40 and in practice for fewer than ten years who have excelled at representing their clients’ best interests. Samuel has been named a Top 100 attorney by The National Trial Lawyers association.
In his role as legal advisor and contributor for Mesotheliomafund.com, Samuel will review information for accuracy, share pertinent research and findings and assist mesothelioma victims with their legal needs.
